We headed to The Spot for our first night of Parkview's Community Kids Days. The kids had a great time and enjoyed the remainder of the week at Wetherby Park. We were able to bring some neighbors along for a couple of evenings. Songs, stories, games, snacks, crafts and even some fun in the splash pad were enjoyed by all. Eric was full of questions as usual so our storyteller, Beth, took some time with him after the group story time was over to answer any of his questions.

SonWest Roundup
We spent a week at SonWest Roundup for Vacation Bible School this summer. My friend, Jessica, and I taught one of the kindergarten classes. We had a big group this year but made the most of it. It was fun to be with Sylvia and some of her friends for the week.
My little cowboy. I found this shirt at Goodwill a few days before Bible School started.
Great Nana stopped by for a visit and took a wagon ride around the church.
The kids got to try on clothes from other countries while learning about Parkview's global workers.
Sylvia's cousin was in her class for the week.
Music time is always one of Sylvia's favorite parts of VBS. The kids also go to snack, craft and rec time during the morning along with classroom time where the Bible story and daily verses are taught.
Bible School is always a fun but exhausting week. All four of us had a great time.
Jessica and I attempted to get a picture of our families before finishing out the week.

VBS
The kids and I participated in Vacation Bible School at church a couple of weeks ago. I helped in the nursery on MWF and taught the mission's lesson on TTh. VBS is always an exhausting week but it was so fun to see my kids spending time with friends and learning about Jesus. Sylvia sent postcards to some of her friends and family inviting them to join her at Bible school. She was excited to have her cousin Carl and her friend Grayson join her for the week.

Eric and friends during the opening program.
Enjoying music time with his class.
Going for a drive.
Carl and Sylvia during the opening program.
Music time.
Some 4-year-olds getting a wagon ride from Grandpa.
Teaching about the different jobs Global Workers can do around the world.
Sports equipment collected for our friends on staff with FCA in Ukraine.
Non-perishable items donated for the Crisis Center's Thanksgiving in July.

VBS
A friend and I taught the 3-year-old class at Parkview's Bible School a few weeks ago. We had 16 3-year-olds, including our daughters. Our hands were full but the week went wonderfully and we all had a great time. I cannot believe how well the children behaved and how well they listened. Erickson joined us at VBS on Tuesday and Thursday. He is still taking a morning nap so he stayed home with Grandma and Nana the other days.
Bible School started each day with an opening program with music and a drama. It was a little wild for some of the 3-year-olds but Sylvia really enjoyed it. The nursery kids also got to join the opening program. Sylvia kept trying to get Eric to dance with her. Grandpa was also at VBS helping out on the playground.

Sylvia invited her friend, Grayson, to join us at Bible school for the week. Her cousin, Carl, was also there the first few days. Our class had a large group lesson as well as small groups during the week. We also spent plenty of time playing in the classroom and on the playground. This year the theme was "SonSurf Beach Bash."

I don't have any pictures from craft or mission time, but Sylvia's favorite Bible School activity was music. These pictures don't need any words. You can see that Sylvia loved learning the actions to all of the songs.

Sylvia enjoyed all the yummy snacks and juice. We don't do juice at home so this was a special treat.
