This is one of the funniest things I have ever witnessed. Sylvia loves putting things over her head and behind her head. I helped her out with this blanket and she proceeded to meander through the living room. I didn't catch as much of it on this video, but I could not believe how much she laughed when she ran into things. Enjoy!

Dishes and Dancing
First Balloon
There were balloons at church last weekend for the grand opening celebration. Grandpa tied one to Sylvia's wrist and we brought it home with us. What is it about balloons that bring children so much joy? The ribbon is just long enough for her to grab and pull around the house. I believe she actually enjoys watching Daddy play with it more than she likes playing with it herself. Five days have past, and our balloon is still floating up to the ceiling. Not sure what has changed since I was a kid, but my balloons never lasted this long.

Swimsuit Shopping
Why can't buying a swimsuit for myself be as easy as it is to buy a swimsuit for Sylvia? One trip to Kid Works, $8.50 later, and we've got ourselves two new (gently used) suits. At the end of February, my family is headed to Grand Bear Resort which is an indoor water park near Starved Rock State Park in Illinois. Sylvia hasn't been swimming since this summer and her two suits no longer fit. So, now we're ready for a day at the pool.

Fresh Snow
It's been awhile since we've had good snow for playing in and weather warm enough to go out in. Today we had both. So, we headed out for a little while to shovel the driveway (again) and try out the sled from Grandpa. I've taken Sylvia out a few other times but this is the first time she seemed to enjoy herself. I even helped her make a snow angel.
O Christmas Tree
We said goodbye to our beloved Christmas tree today. Sylvia enjoyed having it in the house although she seemed afraid when Dan first set it up. She even cried when he left her in the room with it. Despite our worries, she didn't mess with the ornaments. Every time she came in the room she would point to the tree. It was sad to see it go.
A Winter Cold
Sylvia doesn't get sick often but right now she's got an icky cold. It's been lingering since last Wednesday where it started with a fever of 103.7. Next came the runny nose and eye boogers. She's maintained a low grade fever but tonight it went up a little again. So, I'll be calling the doctor tomorrow to see if we should come in. Since being sick, Sylvia has become attached to her stuffed frog which Dan and I have named Shamus T. Frogger.

Homemade Gifts
I got crafty again the other night with a simple project. Things have been so busy recently so it took me awhile to finish my gifts for the preschool staff. Hopefully they don't mind the extended holiday this year. All I did was add a strip of fabric to a white kitchen towel. Lots of fun and very easy.
