Valentine's Day

My sweet valentines!
Eric and his valentine, Macy.
Sylvia worked hard to make valentines for her friends. She cut each one out, decorated them with stickers, wrote her name on the back, and helped me glue the eyes on.

Baking with the Kids

At some point with Sylvia I realized it would be easier to invite her up on a stool to join me in cooking and baking rather than shooing her away from my ankles. The time has now come to do the same with Eric. It's a little trickier this time around because Sylvia still wants to participate.

Beautiful January

January has come and gone but here's a peek into my day to day life. Isn't it beautiful? I left out pictures of doing laundry, changing diapers and unloading the dishwasher, etc.

"Oh, I love to pat the Bible, the Bible, the Bible. Oh, I love to pat the Bible with hands God gave me."
Eric kept climbing in here and asking me to sing "Twinkle."
My little man.
The boys.
Eric is starting to enjoy coloring. We've ended up with drawings more places than we ever did with Sylvia including two chairs, the highchair, his shirt and his lips and hands as you can see from this photo.
My little cowboy.
Drake rarely gets a peaceful ride in the swing.
All dolled up and enjoying some raisins. Sylvia usually dresses and accessorizes herself.

Crayon

Sylvia got to bring the "class pet" home with her a few weeks ago. She got to name and dress the dog for the week and then fill in a page in the class book.

Buddy's Name: Crayon

What did you do with the buddy? Played with her and put her in the bassinet.

Where did the buddy sleep? In my room.

What did the buddy eat at your house? Hotdog and milk

Did the Buddy go anywhere special with you? To the store.

Little Bro

He may be the Little Bro but he's not all that little. At his 8 week appointment Drake weighed in at 14lb 9oz.

White Day

Sylvia's white picture. After making this little snowman at preschool she wanted to give it a try at home. She made several marshmallow creations and we gave them to Grandma & Grandpa and Nana & Papa with packets of hot chocolate.
Sylvia's class singing The White Song.

January Snow

We haven't had a lot of snow this winter so we try to get out whenever a little accumulates.

Sylvia has shared with Eric her love of eating snow but not the details about what snow is good to eat. We may need a refresher course on this. Earlier this winter, Sylvia came in to look in her mouth after eating peach snow. Hmmm?
Sylvia and Daddy made this snowman. After Daddy headed inside Sylvia kept rolling up balls of snow and putting sticks, etc. in them. I love her imagination and the fact that she was content with her small mound of snow "snowmen" and didn't need them to be "perfect."
Sylvia was so excited that there was enough snow to sled down our little hill. She so badly wanted Eric to try it out but he was not interested. He did however let her pull him around in the sled.

I can't wait till all three of them are out playing in the snow next winter.

Winter Coloring Contest

Sylvia participated in her first coloring contest last month. While she was coloring, I explained to her that we were doing it for fun and she may not be the winner. When she was all done she said, "I won. I'm the first one done coloring my picture."

Birth Announcement Photo Shoots

It took us a few photo shoots to get the picture we wanted for our birth announcements. Here are a few of my favorites. There's a little something special in each of them. I sewed the blanket in the firs two, my aunt Sue knit the snugly pouch in numbers 3 and 4, and the last picture is taken with a blanket given to Drake by my brother and sister-in-law.

December Favorites

I know I'm playing catch-up but here are few pictures I couldn't not post from December.

This boy loves to color at the easel.
That face says it all. I gave up on decorating our Christmas tree and decided to let the kids enjoy it and move ornaments around.
Sylvia has been sneaking into lots of my pictures recently.
Curious George is still one of her favorite books.
Snuggling with Grandma while reading Amelia Bedelia. These were some of my favorites when I was a kid.
Eric loves to "fix" things. We have to watch what we do in front of him because he will give it a try. No electrical work for this guy.

Life with Drake

We spent the month of December getting to know the newest member of our family. We've all decided he's a keeper.

Checking out the new baby.
My boys.
Cousins, Ben and Katie, stopping by for a visit.
Sylvia likes it when Drake holds her hand.
My attempt at a nice picture of the kids. Sylvia is becoming quite the ham for the camera.
Daddy and Drake.
My not so happy little elf.
Eric often wants to share with Drake.

Christmas Day with the Broffitts

We headed over to Nana and Papa's after Eric's nap on Christmas. We're so blessed to have family here in town and to be able to spend time with everyone during the holidays.

There was plenty of gift opening help available.
I'm not sure who likes Eric's remote control bus the best.
Our little Christmas gift. Again, he slept through most of the activity.
Checking out their new gifts with Nana.
