Sylvia's First Easter

Sylvia seemed to enjoy her first Easter. The three of us went to church on Saturday night. Sunday afternoon we headed to Nana and Papa Broffitt's house along with Grandma and Grandpa Hoefer for an Easter egg hunt and dinner.

Sylvia could hold her own basket with plastic eggs in it but the real eggs made it too heavy.

The eggs were just slightly too big for her to keep a good hold of but she kept ahold of that basket.

Sylvia's Easter basket consisted of things she could chew on rather than candy. I figure that's sort of candy for babies. We're working on sitting up on her own but this picture was taken while she was tipping over.

We actually got Sylvia to look at the camera for this picture as opposed to the TV that is behind me.

Grandma gave Sylvia a book about kisses in her Easter basket. Nana read it to her but didn't choose to give all the kisses the book talks about because most of Sylvia's face was covered in drool. It looks like her little mouth could have some teeth in it soon.

A Visit from Friends

Our friends (Zach, Rachel & Abi) came to visit from Pennsylvania the first week of March. We went swimming, saw the Bee Movie, went to story time at the library and Tot Time at the gym, and we even got outside for walk.

First Swim

We had the opportunity to take Sylvia for her first swim last week. However, the pool water was too cold even for mom so we just dangled her feet in the hot tub and poured warm water on her. She enjoys bath time so I think she's going to like swimming this summer.

What is spring?

Sylvia wants to know when it is going to warm up so she can play outside. We've taken a couple of walks this winter and Sylvia loves being outside.

3 Month Pictures

I took Sylvia to get her 3 month pictures on Friday. After getting her bathed, I put her down for a nap and I jumped in the shower. She slept long enough for me to get my hair dried and get our things in the car. As soon as she woke up I fed her and we headed to pick up Grandma on the way to the mall. A few minutes later I got a flat tire. I pulled over and called my mom and Dan. Sylvia started crying in the back of the car and I started to think that getting pictures taken was not going to happen. But, Grandma came and picked us up and Sylvia settled down. The photographer got her to smile every time, and I stayed out of the way so Sylvia wouldn't try to look at me. Luckly Grandma was there to hold Sylvia while I ordered the pictures because she started to cry again before falling asleep. Here's the outcome of our successful photo shoot.
