Linear Fabric

Here's the newest nursing cover I made. My sister-in-law had me make it for a friend of hers.

Now that our family room is done, I have a large place to sit while I cut and pin fabric...in front of the TV. I've found that it's much easier to do lots of cutting and pinning at one time. That way I have a lot of sewing to do at once. I've feared using linear fabric in the past but it actually went pretty well. Mistakes are more noticeable, but you've also got the line on the fabric to follow for your hem. The verdict is still out on whether or not I liked using the linear fabric.

The school year is nearing it's end and I'm looking forward to having more time this summer for sewing. Hopefully that will mean adding a few new projects to my repertoire.

Growing Up

My little Sylvia is officially growing up. I've known this for awhile, but I was reminded of it this week as she spent time coloring at the kitchen table and wanted to read books by herself in her room. She loves books right now. We have a large collection of board books in our living room. I can sometimes even cook dinner uninterrupted while Sylvia sits in the living room reading books. This is not always the case, but I'm very thankful for the days I am able to.

Easter

I know Easter was a couple of weeks ago, but I thought I'd go ahead and share our photos. Sylvia entertained us (or maybe just herself) with some piano music on Easter morning.

We went to church with Dan's family and then back to their place for lunch and an egg hunt. Aunt Ginny taught Sylvia how to hunt for eggs. Sylvia was a quick learner and enjoyed finding the eggs, shaking them, and then putting them in her basket. The yellow eggs had goldfish crackers in them for Sylvia to enjoy since we don't give her candy yet.

We headed to my parents' after nap time for dinner and another egg hunt. This time Sylvia had to share the eggs with her cousin Ben and her friend, Henry. The three didn't seem to mind who got the eggs as they dropped them in each other's baskets.

Shoes

Sylvia loves shoes. Her shoes, my shoes, Dan's shoes...it doesn't matter. This is her favorite pair.

HE HAS RISEN!

HE HAS RISEN INDEED!

On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, "Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 'The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.' " Then they remembered his words. Luke 24:1-10

Dance Party

The past two Wednesdays Dan and I have babysat for Sylvia's friend, Henry. The two of them enjoy playing with together...for the most part. Last night the two of them enjoyed dancing along to Dan's guitar playing. This is one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

Henry & Sylvia enjoying one of our new Ikea chairs. They both like to climb in and out of the chair. One has a ball so that means the other has to have one too.

Henry was getting tired and hoping mom & dad would come back soon. He really, really likes Dan now so that means Dan got to read him a story and put him to bed the last two weeks.
