We got held up going through security while they thoroughly inspected the light switch box Dan made for Eric. We made our flight, but were the last ones one. I paid for Sylvia's seat and Eric was a lap child. Both kids rotated through toys on our flight to Detroit. Sylvia enjoyed drinking juice and eating airplane snacks. Upon arriving in Detroit, I was thankful to find a family bathroom right as we got of the plane. We changed Eric's diaper, took a potty break and repacked our bags before heading to our next gate. We found our gate quickly and the kids enjoyed their lunchables. I let them run around quite a bit and made sure Eric didn't get too far out of my reach.

Sylvia enjoyed a movie on Dan's ipod during the second flight while Eric took a nap on mom's lap. When we arrived in New York, Sylvia was greeted by her best friend, Henry. It had been a year since we saw the O'Briens. The kids have talked a few times and sent gifts to each other but we weren't sure how they would react when the met again. Linda and I both teared up when they greeted each other with a long hug.
Linda and Jesse graciously gave up their room to me and the kids. We adjusted pretty quickly to the time change and sharing a room. Eric ended up getting up a little earlier during the week since he could see Sylvia and I when he woke up.
Linda and Jesse currently live with Jesse's parents so enjoyed our meals in the family kitchen.

The kids spent a lot of time playing in the front yard. Sylvia and Henry enjoyed spending some time by themselves without the little boys. I believe they are collecting seeds of some type here.
We got the sprinkler out a couple of times. Linda's boys may someday be upset that she didn't take the time to put their swim trunks on instead of sending them out in whitey tighties.

Eric wasn't so sure what he thought of the sprinkler at first. He spent a lot of time climbing in and out of this box. Mowing the lawn was another good escape. He eventually warmed up to it and enjoyed running back and forth between mommy and the sprinkler.
We also spent lots of time playing with toys inside. This is what it looked like with the four of them running around.
Eric is talking on the "phone." Not sure what he's saying but it looks like a pretty entertaining call.
Sword fighting is a regular activity in a house full of boys. Sylvia didn't seem to mind joining in.

We got to see a fire truck up close during Magic in Minetto on Saturday. Sylvia is very into fire fighters and was so excited she almost shut down a little. I had to convince her to sit in the driver's seat. Sylvia, Henry and Calvin all got to put out a little fire with the help of a real fire fighter.
The kids also enjoyed face painting, crafts, a bouncy house, kayak races, and ice cream. Eric didn't quite make it through is ice cream before falling asleep.

Sunday morning we went to church. Jesse watched Eric for me while Sylvia and I attended the service. She did a great job. After church, a bunch of kids out and picked black raspberries.
Before leaving Oswego, we loaded up Linda's van and took a trip to see Lake Ontario.
We played at the park, had a picnic lunch, and went for a walk by the lake. Eric loves steering wheels and Sylvia loves the fire pole so they were both happy at this park.
We stayed an extra day and were able to meet Linda's parents as well as Linda's sister and her two kids who live about 45 mintues away.
Sylvia got to play with Linda's niece, Grace. It was a rainy day but that didn't stop them from having fun. Linda sent the kids out to collect "treasures." They each came back with a bag full of leaves, pinecones, etc. Eric also enjoyed splashing around in the puddles and getting muddy.

My little girl was so worn out. She asked if she could have rest time in the pack and play and ended up falling asleep.

Charles wasn't in on much of the action during the week. Sylvia managed to sneak in one quick chance to hold him before we left.

Linda and Henry drove us to our car rental where we headed on to Pennsylvania. It was hard to say goodbye after such a great week visiting friends.
