Happy Father's Day

You are a wonderful Daddy and we both love you so much!

Father's Day Gift

Sylvia and Henry did some finger painting for their daddies the other day. It was followed immediately by a quick bath. Although it was very messy, I think we'll have to do it again soon because she had so much fun. Dan also enjoyed the final outcome. He now has some artwork for his office.

I read online about a girl (now 35) who made a Father's Day gift for her dad each year and took a picture of her and her dad with the gift. I cannot even remember Father's Day last year with all that was going on with the flood, but we will be starting that tradition this year.

Pool Party with Henry

Linda and the boys came over to play a few days ago. I think Sylvia enjoys the pool more when she's got a friend with her. I have a feeling we'll be having more days like this is the near future.

Getting to know Henry's new baby brother, Calvin. She's smitten with him and very quickly learned how to say the word baby.

Copying each other in the pool.

She only needed help into the pool once and then she figured out how to get in and out on her own. It's a good thing too because I don't think Henry was interested in helping again.

A quick kiss for a friend.

No comment necessary.

I think she wonders is he is picking that flower for her.

He wasn't, so she decided to pick her own. My gerber daisy is now flowerless.

Henry has learned to smile for the camera. We'll have to work on that with Sylvia so she doesn't end up with this look on her face in so many pictures.

Our Backyard Pool

Sylvia received a wading pool for her half birthday. It's difficult to let her into the backyard without playing in the pool. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

Warm Weather is Coming

Luckily this summer has not been too hot so far, because we are currently without an air conditioner. Tonight Dan poured a new concrete slab for our post-flood air conditioner which is larger than the one we had before. Sylvia was determined to try and move the wheel barrow. We attempted to put her hand print in the concrete but she did not cooperate.

Kindermusik

Sylvia just finished up 16 weeks of Saturday morning Kindermusik classes at West Music. She throughly enjoyed interacting with the other boys and girls, exploring the instruments and other materials, and especially all the dancing she got to do.

Scarves were one of her favorite things.

Not even she can resist staring at such a cute little girl.

Sylvia always took off with the books to read by herself once I had read to her.

Most weeks Sylvia used the drums as a seat instead of beating on them.

Here's my dancing queen. She got a lot of compliments on her moves.

Tot Time

Last Friday, our play group met for Tot Time at Scanlon Gym. I cannot believe that the kids are all old enough to run around on their own now. They all had a blast.

Sylvia enjoyed driving around in the cozy coupe.

I think she preferred being pushed around by her friends.

Even when they ran her into the bleachers. She did take turns but I don't have any pictures of her doing the pushing.

Henry and Sylvia both wanted on these creatures but didn't really know what to do once they were there. I thought it was funny that Henry asked to get on the pink one and Sylvia requested the green one. It makes for a nice picture with their shirts.
