The Fountain

I've been meaning to post these pictures and today seemed like a good day since Sylvia is not currently feeling well. It's fun to see her running around, smiling, and getting all wet.

We've headed downtown for lunch a few times this summer to see Dan. Sylvia loves playing in the fountain when we go. I took lots of pictures but didn't capture her doing one of her favorite things...squatting over the water and letting it hit her in the bottom. It doesn't make for the most attractive shot.

This guy will be able to join her next summer.

High Chair Seat Cushion

I cleaned the high chair and put it back together for Erickson. Sylvia had been using it without the tray. The cusion it came with was very worn out and cracked so we threw it away awhile back. So, I found this fabric at JoAnn's and made this seat cusion. I can't believe he's almost 6 months and ready to start eating food. We tried out some sweet potatoes the last couple of days. He's not sure what to think of them.

Putnam Museum & Niabi Zoo

My parents and I took Sylvia, Erickson and some cousins for a short trip last week. We headed to the Niabi Zoo despite the rain coming down and changed our plans as we got closer and started our day at the Putnam Museum.

We ate a quick lunch and by the time we were ready to leave the museum it had stopped raining. Although it was very muggy we had a lot of fun. Sylvia was excited to see the giraffes. She just loved running around with her cousins.

The Finished Deck

We traveled back to Macomb, IL a couple of weeks ago to finish up Ginny's deck. As you can see, Sylvia was very helpful. Dan, Ginny and Papa really did most of the work.
The completed project.

Tumbling

Sylvia took a four week tumbling class through the IC rec department this summer. Her favorite thing was "walking on the line" (balance beam). She has pretty good balance and was able to do it "all my best." That's what she says instead of all by myself since I often tell her to try things herself and do her best.

Argentina

We gave a Sylvia a world map for her 2nd birthday in November and hung it on the wall at her level. Since then, we've been trying to pray more regularly for our friends who live overseas as well as those who serve within the states. We've also been teaching her the countries where our friends live. Above the map are pictures of our friends.

Tonight, while going to the bathroom, Sylvia tore off a piece of toilet paper and told me, "This looks like Argentina." My aunt and uncle have lived in Argentina for 17 years. I had the opportunity to visit them for a month back in 2002. I came back one month before our wedding.

I'm so glad that Sylvia is beginning to understand that there is a large world out there full of people that God loves.
