Christmas Morning

Our Christmas morning traditions start with Dan's french toast and real maple syrup. We follow breakfast with stockings. I love finding things throughout the year to fill up our stockings. We read the Christmas story using a little set of gifts and poems that my friend, Rachel, gave us a few years back. It was so fun to watch the kids play with their toys as they opened them and to not hurry at all.

Sylvia helped Dan open up a gift filled with lots of new t-shirts including one with a yellow submarine on it.
We bought a light box and a set of x-rays for our little doctor. Her doctor kit continues to be one of her favorite toys. She loves going to the doctor and getting shots. Sylvia also likes to trace pictures on the light box.
When she's not playing doctor Sylvia is often talking about football. Dan picked out a Hawkeye jersey for her with Marvin McNutt's number on it.
Drake was a little gingerbread boy thanks to Aunt Ginny. He slept through most of the gift opening.
I think Eric enjoyed playing with the tree as much as he enjoyed opening gifts. We didn't end up putting too many ornaments on our tree this year because Eric was immediately trying to take them off as they went up.
Dan spent time this December making a set of blocks for the kids. They were a big hit and are played with regularly.
